Mostly creative community and collaborative constructs
As a riff on Magritte’s famous pipe painting, and other versions (Banksy), I installed my Grandpa’s actual pipe on a utility pole in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone.
I took my Grandpa’s pipe, sanded it down on one side, affixed it in a frame, mimicked Magritte’s lettering, and mounted it high on a utility pole in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone. It was there for a couple years and may have been noticed by a few observant souls. It is now gone.
Annual New Years Day Polar Dip
Julie DeAngelis and I started this community camaraderie event which takes place at Santa Barbara’s East Beach every January 1st at 11am. Due to requirements from the City of Santa Barbara, the organized event is NOT taking place in 2025.
